Influence of winter protection techniques on the growth of Paulownia clone in vitro 112 in the conditions of Czech Republic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou pěstování Paulownia klon in vitro 112 v klimatických podmínkách České republiky. Pro tento účel byla založena v roce 2016 plantáž nedaleko obce Střelice u Brna. Výzkum na této ploše proběhl v letech 2016 – 2019, kdy byla předmětem zkoumání ochrana rostlin a vliv mrazů, na růst paulovnií. Díky svým vlastnostem mohou mít paulovnie v budoucnu velký potenciál z hlediska dřevní produkce.Cílem této práce je statistické vyhodnocení zazimovacích technik paulovnie proti jejímu vymrzání, při odrůstání v podmínkách ČR. Výzkum výše popsaný byl realizován formou praktických individuálních ochran jedinců, např. geotextilií formou překryvu nadzemních částí rostlin.Výstupem z této práce je především zjištění a vyhodnocení vlivů individuální ochrany proti vymrzání paulovnií a její efektivity. Na základě zjištěných dat je možné vyvodit doporučení pro využití v praxi. Z výsledků práce vyplývá že nejúčinnější je ochrana nadzemní části rostlin bílým latexovým nátěrem, ovazem geotextilií, či zabalením do papírového pytle. Avšak tato řešení, pouze zmírňují, ale nijak výrazně neřeší toto samotné vymrzání.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the issues connected with growing of the Paulownia clone in vitro 112 in the climatic conditions of the Czech Republic. In the year 2016, a plantation was founded for this purpose, namely nearby the municipality of Střelnice u Brna. The research, carried out between 2016 and 2019, aimed at the protection of plants and the influence of frost on the growing of Paulownia. Due to their properties, Paulownia can have great potential in terms of wood production in the future.The aim of the thesis is the statistical evaluation of the Paulownia winter protection techniques against its freezing while growing up in the conditions of the Czech Republic. The research, described above, was conducted in the form of practical individual protection, for example using geotextiles which cover the aboveground parts of plants.The outcome of the thesis is, above all, the establishment and evaluation of influences of individual Paulownia protection against freezing and its effectiveness. Based on the established data, some practical conclusions can be drawn. The most effective methods of protection of the aboveground parts of plants are: white latex painting, wrapping the plants by geotextile or paper bags. However, these methods only reduce freezing of plants, they cannot prevent it completely.
