Assessment of the applicability of a mixture of birch and spruce for the production of OSB

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá posouzením využitelnosti směsi břízy se smrkem pro výrobu OSB desek. Zabývá se výrobou 5 druhů OSB desek, které se od sebe liší procentuálním zastoupením břízových a smrkových třísek. Typy zkoumaných OSB desek jsou 100 % smrk, 100 % bříza, dále směs 5 % bříza, 10 % bříza a 15 % bříza se zbylým zastoupením smrku. V první části této práce je popsána problematika aglomerovaných materiálu, konkrétněji OSB desek (Oriented Straind Board). Je zde popsána historie, charakteristika, využití, a především technologie výroby OSB desek. Další část se zabývá popisem jednotlivých technologických operací výroby OSB desek spolu s postupy výpočtů jednotlivých fyzikálních a mechanických vlastností. Mezi posuzované vlastnosti jsou řazeny: hustota, pevnost kolmo na rovinu desky (rozlupčivost), modul pružnosti v ohybu (MOE), mez pevnosti v ohybu (MOR), vlhkost, hustotní profil a bobtnání. Poslední část je věnována porovnání statisticky vyhodnocených dat s normovanými požadavky a také s odbornými publikacemi, které se touto problematikou zabývají.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the assessment of the applicability of birch-spruce mixture for the production of OSB. It deals with the production of 5 types of OSB boards, which differ from each other by the percentage of birch and spruce chips. The types of OSB studied are 100 % spruce, 100 % birch, a mixture of 5 % birch, 10 % birch and 15 % birch with the remaining spruce. In the first part of this thesis the problematic of agglomerated material, more specifically OSB (Oriented Strand Board) is described. It describes the history, characteristics, uses and, above all, the technology of OSB production. The next part deals with the description of the individual technological operations of OSB production together with the calculation procedures of individual physical and mechanical properties. The properties considered include: density, strength perpendicular to the plane of the board (splitting), modulus of elasticity in bending (MOE), flexural strength (MOR), moisture content, density profile and swelling. The last part is devoted to the comparison of the statistically evaluated data with the standard requirements and also with the professional publications dealing with this problematic.
