Manózu vázající lektin (MBL) hraje důležitou roli ve vrozené imunitě, která je klíčová u dětí. Rozpoznává sacharidové struktury na povrchu mikroorganismů a tím aktivuje imunitní reakci. Jeho deficit způsobený variantními alelami je asociován s náchylností k infekcím. Abstract:
Mannose-binding lectin (MBL) plays an important role in an innate immunity which is crucial for children. It recognizes carbohydrate structures on microorganisms’ surfaces and thus activates reaction of immunity. Its deficiency caused by variant alleles is associated with susceptibility to infections.
