Prevention of Breast Cancer in Adolescents

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem o prevenci karcinomu prsu u adolescentek. Hlavním cílem je zjistit, zda jsou mladé dívky na středních školách informované o karcinomu prsu a jeho prevenci. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část je zaměřena na charakteristiku adolescentního věku, specifikování pojmu karcinom prsu, anatomií prsu a prevenci nádoru prsu. Věnuje se také příznakům, zásadám či metodám samovyšetření prsu. Praktická část prezentuje metodu kvantitativního šetření pomocí dotazníku, ve kterém respondentky byly dotazovány na jejich znalosti, co se týče příčin vzniku karcinomu prsu a informovanosti o správném provádění samovyšetření prsu. Výsledky však ukázaly nedostatečnou úroveň znalostí o správném provádění samovyšetření prsu, ale vzbudily většinový zájem o přednášku s touto tématikou.

Abstract:

The bachelor seminar work deals with the theme of the prevention of carcinoma of the breast in adolescence. The main goal is to learn whether young women are sufficiently acquainted and informed about the carcinoma of the breast and its prevention. This work is divided into practical and theoretical parts. The theoretical part consists of characterizing the adolescent age and this period, the actual meaning of the carcinoma of the breast, the anatomy of the breast, and also prevention of the sickness. It also concerns symptoms and rules and methods of successful self-check procedures for carcinoma of the breast. Regarding the practical part,it presents a method of quantitative investigation through the questionary in which all the respondents were asked about their knowledge connected with the causes of this illness and about how familiar they are with the self-check method of this specific problem. The results showed an insufficient level of knowledge regarding this matter and its solution, but it also caused a great interest in hearing about it more via lecture.
