The Poetics of rap lyrics in Middle Europe after the year 1989

Abstract:

Anotace Bakalářská práce se věnuje historii hiphopu od počátků v USA k jeho prvním objevům ve střední Evropě až po současnost. Text definuje základní umělecké formy hiphopu které se objevují ve spojených státech od sedmdesátých let a charakterizuje jejich hlavní vývojové rysy. Největší důraz ke kladen na analýzu a historii hiphopu v Polsku, České republice a na Slovensku po pádu komunismu během devadesátých let. Zaměřuje se na provázanost a podobnost tří národních scén a jejich proměny v čase v souvislostech změn ve střední Evropě. Práce se zabývá popisem makrosociálních faktorů doprovázejících transformaci k tržní ekonomice po změně režimu a vytvářející podhoubí pro vznik subkultur. Věnuje se také analýze a popisu témat hiphopových kapel a jejich proměn. Témata jsou analyzována v sociálním kontextu subkultury a její identity. Mnohoúhelnost pohledu se snaží ukázat fenomén hiphopu v co největší šíři, od jeho podhoubí a kořenů až po změny poetiky v textech kapel.

Abstract:

Bachelors work follows history of hip-hop from it‘s very beginning in the United States through it‘s first appearance in middle Europe until today. This text defines basic artistic forms of hip-hop which appears in the United States since Seventies and characterizes their major evolutionary features. The biggest stress is put on analysis and history of hip-hop in Poland, the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic after fall of communism during the Nineties. It focuses on cohesion and similarities of three national scenes and their changes in time connected to changes in middle Europe. The work inquires into description of macro social factors following transformation towards market economy after change of government and creating background for rise of subcultures. It also concerns on analysis and description of topics of hip-hop bands and their shifts. Topics are analysed in social context of subculture and it‘s identity. Variety of views is trying to show phenomenon of hip-hop in the widest possible way, from it‘s background and origin to changes of poetics in lyrics of bands.
