This diploma thesis occupies itself with the translation of the poem collection Abschied und Wiederkehr written by Carl Zuckmayer. The theoretical part deals with the theory of translation, poetry translation theory and the author as such. As an example, there is one poem from the same period translated into Czech. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá překladem básnické sbírky Abschied und Wiederkehr od Carla Zuckmayera. Teoretická část se věnuje teorii překladu, teorii překladu básní a krátce i samotnému autorovi. Pro příklad je zde přeložena i jedna báseň ze stejného období, která, na rozdíl od v praktické části uvedených básní, již existuje i v české verzi. Tyto básně jsou poté porovnány.
