Benefits of Prague’s brownfield revitalization and its impact on the lives of citizens

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce je hodnotová a funkční analýza současného stavu revitalizace brownfields v oblastech Hlavního města Prahy na pozadí dosavadních poznatků relevantních k problematice brownfields ve vyspělých státech i ČR. Vedle vymezení základních pojmů a všeobecných problémů spojených s existencí brownfields, jsou zde citovány základní strategické dokumenty a ostatní nástroje řešení uvedené problematiky. Pro hlubší pochopení filosofie problému jsou dále formulována východiska revitalizace brownfields, příčiny vzniku a negativní důsledky brownfields, důvody pro jejich revitalizace a informace o existenci účinného strategického, právního, legislativního a programového rámce. V závěru diplomové práce jsou uvedeny inspirativní příklady pražských urbanisticko-architektonických realizací zdařilých projektů revitalizovaných brownfields.

Abstract:

The thesis, the value and functional analysis of the current state of the revitalization of brownfield sites in the capital city of Prague in the background of existing knowledge relevant to brownfields in the developed countries of the CR. In addition to defining the basic concepts and general issues related to the existence of brownfields, are here quoted basic strategic documents and other instruments that address the concerns raised. For a deeper understanding of the philosophy of the problem is further formulated starting the revitalization of brownfields, causes and negative effects of brownfields, the reasons for its revitalization and the existence of effective strategic, legal, legislative and programmatic framework. In conclusion, the Prague set inspiring examples of successful implementation of urban planning and architectural projects revitalized brownfields
