Diversity and Inclusion: The case study of Procter&Gamble

Abstract:

Hlavním cilem této diplomové práce je ujasnit pojmy diverzita a inkluze, jak důležitou roli hrají v dnešní době v globálním podnikání (v meyinárodních firmách jednajících celosvětově, aplikováno především v FMCG oboru) a jejich význam ve firmě Procter&Gamble. Diplomová práce je rozdělena do 4 kapitol, kde první z nich je dedikována teoretickým aspektům tohoto téma samotného a kulturním charakteristikám České republiky a Mexika. Druhá kapitola zahrnuje část praktickou, která je založena na hloubkových rozhovorech. Výzkum je prováděn mezi Pražskou a Mexiskou kanceláří firmy Procter & Gamble ya pomocí individuálních hloubkových rozhovorů. Za druhou kapitolou následuje porovnání výstupů výzkumu s teoretickými poznatky uvedenými v první kapitole. Zahrnuje to i porovnání navzájem o něch dvou zmíněných kanceláří. Čtvrtá kapitola je dedikována doporučením, kde a jak by společnost mohla vylepšit svůj program diverzity a inkluze. Výsledkem práce je hloubkové porozumnění tématu a analýza provedená na konkrétní case study na firmě Procter & Gamble.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is to clarify what diversity and inclusion are, how important of a role they play nowadays in global business in general (in international companies dealing worldwide, mainly applied in FMCG area) and what it means to Procter&Gamble. The thesis is divided into 4 chapters, where the first one is dedicated to the theoretical aspects of the topic itself as well as to cultural demands and characteristics of Czech Republic and Mexico. The second chapter covers the practical part of the thesis and is based on a deep structured research. The research is made in between Prague and the Mexican office of Procter&Gamble using deep individual interviews. The second chapter is followed by the comparison of research outcomes and theoretical background explained in chapter one. It also covers the comparison between the two offices in respective countries. The fourth chapter is dedicated to suggestions of where and how the analyzed offices and the entire company could do better based on the theoretical knowledge. The outcome of the entire thesis is a deep understanding of the topic and an analysis made by a concrete case study of Procter & Gamble.
