Special pedagogical diagnostics, screening and intervention as tools for the prevention of school failure of a school special pedagogue at a primary school

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá rolí školního speciálního pedagoga v prevenci školního neúspěchu. Orientuje se na děti nastupující povinnou školní docházku, zjišťuje pomocí diagnostických nástrojů dosaženou úroveň jejich školní zralosti a připravenosti. Dále se zabývá možnostmi rozvoje a podpory dětí především v oblastech zrakového vnímání. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části - teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část je věnována poznatkům odborné literatury v oblasti kognitivního vývoje dítěte, kompetencí, které dítě potřebuje k úspěšnému zvládnutí vstupu do školy, a s tím souvisejícím pojmem školní zralosti a připravenosti. Dále se teoretická část věnuje tématu prevence školního neúspěchu a role školního speciálního pedagoga v rámci školního poradenského pracoviště. Praktická část představuje možné způsoby rozvoje zrakového vnímání, procvičování zrakové paměti, včetně konkrétních intervenčních postupů, kterých bylo využito při práci s dětmi. Tato část rovněž obsahuje porovnání výsledků vstupního a výstupního testování pomocí standardizovaných testů - Orientační test školní zralosti a Reverzní test. V závěru práce jsou formulovány konkrétní závěry a doporučení pro praxi.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the role of the school special education teacher in the prevention of school failure. It focuses on children entering primary school and uses diagnostic tools to determine their level of school maturity and readiness. It also deals with the possibilities of development and support of children, especially in the areas of visual perception. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is devoted to the facts from professional literature in the field of cognitive development of the child, the competences that the child needs to successfully manage entry to school, and the related concept of school maturity and readiness. Furthermore, the theoretical part is devoted to the topic of prevention of school failure and the role of the school special education teacher within the school counseling workplace. The practical part presents possible ways of developing visual perception, practicing visual memory, including specific intervention procedures that were used when working with children. This section also contains a comparison of the results of entrance and exit testing using standardized tests - the Orientation Test of School Maturity and the Reversal Test. At the end of the thesis, specific conclusions and recommendations for practice are formulated.
