The influence of personality traits of an individual on eye movements when driving a motor vehicle in virtual reality

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na problematiku osobnostních rysů, přesněji rysu psychopatie, a jeho vlivu na vzorce pohybu očí a chování jedince v modelové dopravní situaci prezentované ve virtuální realitě. Práce představuje, přibližuje a kriticky diskutuje teoretický model postihující vztahy mezi rysy psychopatie, očními pohyby, agresivitou a rizikovém chováním jedince na silnici. Tento navržený model, vycházející z literatury, který bude možné aplikovat s využitím virtuální reality, herního simulátoru a technologie eye-trackingu, by mohl reprezentovat testovatelný model lidského chování, který by se v kombinaci s navrhovaným měřicím VR nástrojem měl stát cílem dalšího empirického výzkumu. V práci diskutujeme dostupnou literaturu a poznatky na toto téma, přičemž vyústěním práce je právě návrh teoretického modelu společně s návrhem jeho dalšího empirického testování.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the problems of personality traits, more specifically the trait of psychopathy, and its influence on the patterns of eye movement and behavior of an individual in a model traffic situation presented in virtual reality. The thesis presents, approximates and critically discusses a theoretical model affecting the relationships between the traits of psychopathy, eye movements, aggressiveness and risky behavior of an individual on the road. This proposed model, based on literature, which will be possible to apply using virtual reality, game simulator and eye-tracking technology, could represent a testable model of human behavior, which in combination with the proposed measuring VR tool should become the target of further empirical research. In the thesis we discuss the available literature and knowledge on this topic, the result of the thesis is the design of the theoretical model together with the design of its further empirical testing.
