Abstract:

The topic of the thesis is Translation of selected texts from the field of Legal English with a commentary and glossary. The aim of the thesis was to deal with the translation process from the two main points of view ? theoretical and practical. The theoretical part contains basic characteristics of the translation and also characterizes particularities of legal English style and provides information about the United States prison system. The practical part includes the translation itself and it is completed by a text analysis and a commentary on translation. The final part of the work is a glossary of terms that appear in the translated text.

Abstract:

Tématem této bakalářské práce je Překlad vybraných textů z oblasti právní angličtiny s komentářem a glosářem. Bakalářská práce se zabývá překladatelským procesem ze dvou hledisek ? teoretického a praktického. Teoretická část obsahuje základní charakteristiky překladu a dále popisuje zvláštnosti anglického právního jazyka a poskytuje informace o vězeňském systému v USA. Praktická část obsahuje samotný překlad a je doplněna analýzou textu a komentářem k překladu. Poslední část bakalářské práce je tvořena glosářem pojmů, které se objevují v překládaném textu.
