The changes in energy prices and the factors that affect their intensity

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce byl rozbor změn cen energie a faktorů ovlivňujících jejich intenzitu. Nejdříve byla provedena analýza vývoje cen energie v období let 2013-2023 a identifikovány faktory ovlivňující dynamiku cen energie na trhu. Metodou výzkumu byla zvolena obsahová analýza a data byla čerpána z databáze Eurostat a Our World In Data. Práce se dále zabývala faktory ovlivňující dynamiku cen energie na trhu. Analýza zahrnovala vývoj cen fosilních paliv a rozdělení výroby podle zdroje, s důrazem na rostoucí výrobu z obnovitelných zdrojů. Následně byla zjišťována intenzita mezi cenami energie a vlivu intenzivních faktorů v rámci covidu a války. Data byla porovnána a jejich vzájemný vztah byl analyzován pomocí korelační analýzy, která byla ověřena jednoduchým dvouvýběrovým T-testem. Korelace prokázala vysokou statistickou souvislost mezi jednotlivými změnami cen energie.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis was to analyze changes in energy prices and factors influencing their intensity. First, an analysis of the development of energy prices in the period 2013-2023 was carried out and factors affecting the dynamics of energy prices on the market were identified. Content analysis was chosen as the research method and data were drawn from the Eurostat and Our World In Data databases. The study also examined factors influencing the dynamics of energy prices on the market. The analysis included the evolution of fossil fuel prices and the distribution of production by source, with an emphasis on increasing production from renewable sources. Furthermore, the intensity between energy prices and the influence of intensity factors in the context of covid and war was examined. Data were compared and their relationship was analyzed using correlation analysis, which was verified by a simple two-sample T-test. The correlation demonstrated a high statistical association between individual changes in energy prices.
