EU industries' competitive advantage analysis

Abstract:

Práce zaprvé vytváří přehled o současných teoretických a praktických přístupech k problematice odvětvové konkurenceschopnosti, a zadruhé se pokouší o verifikaci teoretických hypotéz pomocí metod lineární regrese Ve své první částí práce poskytuje především teoretické pole pro vytvoření širší koncepce konkurenceschopnosti. Jsou zde přiblížené jak teoretické koncepce, tak i praktické metody, používané v současnosti odbornými institucemi Druha část práce se pak pokouší o sjednocení teorii, vyložených v první části. Zmíněné teoretické závěry jsou pak vztažené na dostupná statistická data ze zdrojů EU a OSN s cílem ověření praktické platnosti teoretických poznatků.

Abstract:

The paper gives a summary of the contemporary theoretical and practical approaches to the question of sectoral competitiveness and makes an attempt of verification of theoretical hypotheses by the means of linear regression. In its first part the paper offers a theoretical field for creating a broader competitiveness concept. The theoretical concepts an practical methods used by the professional institutions are both presented therein. In its second part an attempt to unite the presented theories is made. The theoretical conclusions are then applied on the sample of statistic data from EU and UN sources with the aim of verification of theoretical conclusions validity.
