Success of central banks in achieving the target

Abstract:

Předmětem bakalářské práce je analýza úspěšnosti zemí Evropské unie v dosahování stanoveného inflačního cíle. Míra úspěšnosti je vyhodnocována pro každý rok z období od 2000 do 2021 se zvláštním důrazem na rok 2022 řešený v samostatné kapitole. Pro vyhodnocení schopnosti naplňovat nízkou a stabilní inflaci v jednotlivých zemích byla použita směrodatná odchylka ve vývoji inflace a také frekvence dosahování hodnot blízkých inflačnímu cíli. Z údajů zpracovaných v této práci vyplývá, že v dosahování cíle jsou úspěšnější západní země s dobře fungující fiskální politikou a vysokým HDP per capita.

Abstract:

The subject of this work is the analysis of the success of the European Union countries in achieving the set inflation target. The success rate is evaluated for each year of the period from 2000 to 2021 with special emphasis on the year 2022 addressed in a separate chapter. The stand-ard deviation of inflation as well as the frequency of achieving values close to the inflation target were used to assess the ability to meet low and stable inflation in each country. The data compiled in this thesis show that Western countries with well-functioning fiscal policies and high GDP per capita are more successful in achieving the target.
