Risk factors for allergy in children

Abstract:

Cílem práce byla literární rešerše rizikových faktorů alergií u dětí a jejich následná pilotní analýza na dětech ze studie ELSPAC. Pro hodnocení vztahu mezi rizikovými faktory a vznikem alergií byly použity statistické metody logistické regrese a korespondenční analýza.Pomocí těchto metod se se podařil ověřit významný vliv genetického faktoru. Tato práce nepotvrdila vliv eliminace rizikových potravin jako potenciálních alergenů (kravské mléko, vejce, obiloviny) v raném věku dítěte. Naopak zavedení kravského mléka do jídelníčku v šesti měsících věku dítěte se prokázalo jako protektivní. Analýza také prokázala pozitivní vliv kontaktu dítěte se zvířaty. Jako negativní rizikový faktor alergie se prokázaly uzeniny a chipsy ve stravě dětí ve třech letech. Tato studie se tedy přiklání k zavedení příkrmů již do šesti měsíců věku dítěte, zamezení uzenin a chipsů v jídelníčku dětí ve třech letech.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis was the literature review of risk factors of allergy of children and following pilot analysis on children from the study ELSPAC. Analyses the relationship between risk factors and the development of allergies were used statistical methods of logistic regression and correspondence analysis.Based on these methods significant influence of genetic factor was verified. This work did not confirm the effect of elimination of risk food as potential allergens (like cow's milk, eggs, and cereals at an early age) at an early age of infant. Conversely, the introduction of cow's milk in the diet at age of six months has proved to be protective. The analysis also demonstrated the positive impact of the child's contact with animals. As negative risk factors for allergy were shown sausages and chips in the diet of children at the age of three years. This study suggests introducing complementary feeding from six months of age and avoidance of sausages and chips in the diets of children in three years.
