Abstract:

Bakalářská práce zkoumá vztahy ČLR a Kuby v letech 1960–1976. Cílem práce je zjistit, v jakém stavu se nacházely, a jaké faktory je ovlivňovaly. Autorka k analýze těchto vztahů využívá teorie realismu, jímž vykresluje sino-kubánské vztahy jako strategickou záležitost založenou na potenciálních výhodách, jež by vztah nabídl, a jak jde ideologie stranou ve prospěch těchto výhod. Práce se rovněž zabývá Sovětským svazem, jeho vlivem na ostrově, sino-sovětské roztržce a kubánské krizi, jakožto důležitými faktory zasahujícími do vývoje sino-kubánských vztahů.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis examines relations between the PRC and Cuba from 1960 to 1976. The aim is to find out what condition they were in, and which factors influenced them. To analyze these relations, the author uses the theory of realism and portrays Sino-Cuban relations as a strategic issue based on the potential benefits the relationship would offer, and how ideology stands aside in favor of those benefits. The thesis also deals with the Soviet Union, its influence on the island, the Sino-Soviet rift and the Cuban crisis, as crucial factors interfering in the development of Sino-Cuban relations.
