Quality of life in patients with bronchia asthma

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá kvalitou života u pacientů s astma bronchiale. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jak pacienti s astma bronchiale hodnotí svou kvalitu života. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a empirickou část. V teoretické části jsou popsány základní poznatky týkající se daného onemocnění, příčiny, příznaky, klasifikace, diagnostika a léčba tohoto onemocnění. Zmíněny jsou také faktory, které ovlivňují toto onemocnění ať už negativně či pozitivně. Dále se zaměřujeme na hodnocení kvality života a metody, které se využívají k jejímu měření. V empirické části práce je podrobně popsána metodologie, analýza získaných dat a statistické testování hypotéz. Tato část zahrnuje také diskusi nad výsledky a navrhována doporučení pro praxi. Data byla získána pomocí kvantitativní metody, prostřednictvím standardizovaného dotazníku WHOQOL-BREF, který byl doplněn o osm otázek vztahující se ke stanoveným hypotézám a o dalších pět otázek, které sloužily k získání sociodemografických údajů o účastnících studie. Výstupem diplomové práce je informativní leták určený pacientům trpícím astmatem.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with quality of life in patients with bronchial asthma. The aim of the thesis was to find out how patients with bronchial asthma evaluate their quality of life. The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical parts. The theoretical part describes the basic knowledge concerning the disease, causes, symptoms, classification, diagnosis and treatment of the disease. The factors that influence the disease either negatively or positively are also mentioned. We also focus on the assessment of quality of life and the methods used to measure it. The empirical part of the thesis describes in detail the methodology, the analysis of the data obtained and the statistical testing of the hypotheses. This section also includes a discussion of the results and proposed recommendations for practice. The data were obtained using a quantitative method, through a standardized WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire, which was supplemented with eight questions related to the stated hypotheses and five additional questions to obtain socio-demographic data on the study participants. The output of the thesis is an informative leaflet for asthma patients.
