Integrating elements of mindfulness into secondary school teaching

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá integrací prvků mindfulness do výuky na druhém stupni základní školy. Teoretická část práce rozpracovává pojem mindfulness, jeho historické kořeny a vliv na fyzické a duševní zdraví. Zkoumá také všechna propojení s aktuálním českým školním kurikulem. Praktická část práce se zaměřuje na vytvoření setu výukových karet zpracovávajících sedm mindfulness aktivit. Karty ve výuce aplikovaly čtyři vyučující, které následně poskytly zpětnou vazbu ohledně srozumitelnosti karet, zpětné vazby žáků a vlivu mindfulness aktivity na následné vyučování. Cílem práce bylo nejenom prezentovat možnosti zapojení mindfulness do výuky, ale také zkoumat reálné odezvy a zkušenosti pedagogů. Výsledky práce mohou poskytnout učitelům ucelený pohled na potenciál mindfulness v kontextu školního prostředí.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the integration of mindfulness elements into teaching at the second level of primary school. The theoretical part of the thesis elaborates on the concept of mindfulness, its historical roots, and its influence on physical and mental health. It also explores all the links between this topic and the current school curriculum. The practical part of the thesis focuses on the creation of a set of teaching cards elaborating seven mindfulness activities. The cards were applied in the classroom by four teachers who then provided feedback on the clarity of the cards, student feedback, and the impact of the mindfulness activity on subsequent teaching. The aim of the work was not only to present the possibilities of incorporating mindfulness into teaching but also to explore the real-life responses and experiences of teachers. The results of this work can provide teachers with a comprehensive view of the potential of mindfulness in the context of the school environment.
