Primárním cílem této bakalářské práce je analýza a interpretace vybraných textů písní z pozdní tvorby Bruce Springsteena od alba The Ghost of Tom Joad. Analyzované texty zahrnují jeho názory a kritiku týkající se především americké společnosti, politického a ekonomického systému, dělnické třídy, rasismu, mezilidských vztahů, a náboženského vlivu.
