The psychological burden in the activity of the police officer of the City of Prague

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce Psychická zátěž v činnosti strážníka Městské policie hl. m. Prahy se především zabývá formami psychické zátěže u aktivních strážníků a možnostmi řešení krizových situací. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická se jednak věnuje historii městské policie, její legislativě, úkolům, povinnostem a oprávněním strážníků a také jejich dalšímu vzdělávání, a jednak vysvětluje jednotlivé pojmy z psychologie, které se týkají právě psychické zátěže. Zaměřuje se především na stresové stavy, porovnává je s frustrací, depresí a syndromem vyhoření a hodnotí také způsoby jednání v zátěžové situaci. Praktická část je zaměřena na zkoumání konkrétního jevu pomocí dotazníkového šetření, a to na vyhodnocení míry stresu strážníků při studiu kurzů na Útvaru vzdělávání MP Praha. Dotazník byl anonymní, aby byla zajištěna validita odpovědí, a odpovídalo na něj 27 respondentů. Strážníci byli dotazováni na okolnosti jejich studia a na to, jakou na ně klade zátěž. Informace získané z dotazníkového šetření byly vyhodnoceny a graficky zpracovány. Výsledky mohou být mj. zajímavé právě pro Útvar vzdělávání MP Praha jako zpětná vazba k jím pořádaným kurzům.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis Psychic load in the activities of the policeman of the City Police of The City of Prague mainly deals with the forms of mental stress in active policemen and the possibilities of crisis management. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the history of the municipal police, its legislation, tasks, duties and rights of policemen and their further education, and also explains the individual concepts of psychology, which concern just the mental load. It focuses mainly on stress states, compares them with frustration, depression and burnout syndrome, as well as the ways of acting in a stressful situation. The practical part is focused on the investigation of a specific phenomenon by means of a questionnaire survey, namely on the evaluation of the level of stress of the police officers when are studying courses at the Department of Education of the City Police in Prague. The questionnaire was anonymous in order to ensure the validity of the answers and was answered by 27 respondents. The officers were asked about the circumstances of their studies and the load they placed on them. The information obtained from the questionnaire survey was evaluated and graphically processed. Among other, the results may be interesting for the Department of Education of the City Police in Prague as a feedback to its courses.
