Territorial-political structures in the territory of present-day Azerbaijan 1918-1921

Abstract:

Bolševickou revoluci v roce 1917 zapřičiňující ztrátu kontroly Ruska nad Jižním Kavkazem využil národ Gruzínů, Ázerbájdžánců a Arménů k pokusu o získání svojí nezávislosti. Během krátkého období od roku 1918 do 1921 vzniklo na multikulturním území dnešního Ázerbájdžánu několik územně-politických struktur, které nebyly zcela schopné získat mezinárodní uznání. Tyto struktury nebyly doposud předmětem bádání ve světové literatuře v kontextu neuznaných států, ačkoliv jsou některé z nich podobné dnešním de facto státům. Bakalářská práce má za cíl přes dostupné zdroje analyzovat okolnosti jejich vzniku a zániku a parametry jejich politického systému. Konkrétně jde o Ázerbájdžánskou demokratickou republiku, Arakskou republiku, Bakuskou komunu, Středokaspickou diktaturu a Horskou republiku Arménie. Kromě analýzy územně-politických struktur se bakalářská práce soustřeďuje na popis předchozího územně-politického vývoje Ázerbájdžánu a formování národní identity, jenž téměř dovedlo azerský národ k samostatnosti.

Abstract:

The Bolshevik revolution of 1917, which caused Russia to lose control of the South Caucasus, was used by Georgian, Azerbaijani and Armenian nations to try to gain their independence. During a short period from 1918 to 1921 were established several territorial-political structures in the multicultural territory of present-day Azerbaijan, which were unable to gain full international recognition. These structures have not yet been the subject of research in world literature in the context of unrecognized states, although some of them are similar to today's de facto states. The bachelor thesis aims to analyze the circumstances of their origin and extinction and the parameters of their political system through available resources. These include Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan, Aras Republic, Baku Commune, Central Caspian dictatorship and the Mountainous Republic of Armenia. In addition to the analysis of territorial-political structures, the bachelor thesis focuses on the description of the previous territorial-political development of Azerbaijan and the formation of national identity which almost led the Azerbaijani people to independence.
