Local conflicts over land use in the Ústí Region - potential and barriers of the brownfield regeneration in floodplains

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá identifikací příčin konfliktů, které omezují využitelnost zanedbaných lokalit - tzv. brownfieldů - situovaných v záplavových územích a to konkrétně na příkladu budovy bývalého cukrovaru v ulici Pražská v Ústí nad Labem. V teoretické části jsou vysvětleny základní pojmy spojené s brownfieldy, teoretické ukotvení a shrnuta literární rešerše blízká tématu práce. V praktické části jsou zmapovány brownfieldy nacházející se na území Ústeckého kraje a blíže jsou charakterizovány brownfieldy nacházející se v aktivní záplavové zóně. V další kapitole je analyzována budova cukrovaru v Ústí nad Labem. Práce dále obsahuje vyhodnocení řízených rozhovorů a dotazníkového šetření. V práci je popsáno několik bariér, které mohou omezit budoucí využití objektu.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the identification of the causes of conflicts that limit the usability of neglected localities - so-called brownfields - situated in floodplains, specifically on the example of the former sugar refinery building in Pražská Street in Ústí nad Labem. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts associated with brownfields, theoretical grounding and summarizes the literature searches related to the topic of the work. In the practical part, brownfields located in the Ústí nad Labem region are mapped and brownfields located in the active flood zone are characterized in more detail. The next chapter analyses the sugar refinery building in Ústí nad Labem. The thesis further contains an evaluation of controlled interviews and a questionnaire survey. Several barriers are described in the work that may limit the future use of the object.
