Graphic design and printing technology for luxury wedding invitations

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem grafického designu a technologií tisku v oblasti luxusních svatebních oznámení. V teoretické části práce je sepsána rešerše zahrnující prvky a principy grafického designu včetně tiskových technologií a vlastností tiskového materiálu, které se v praxi dají využít pro tisk svatebních oznámení. V praktické části je demonstrován proces tvorby návrhu svatebního oznámení včetně jeho výroby v konkrétní tiskárně. Cílem práce je otestovat vytištěná svatební oznámení za pomocí zušlechťovacích tiskových technologií v praxi a zároveň zjistit, jak lidé o svatebních oznámeních smýšlí a co je pro ně při výběru podstatné. V rámci výzkumu je použita kvantitativní metoda dotazníkového šetření a kvalitativní metoda hloubkových rozhovorů. Výsledkem práce jsou potvrzené a vyvrácené hypotézy, které odhalují současný pohled na luxusní svatební oznámení v rámci generace mladých dospělých. Zajímavým poznatkem je, že ačkoliv jsou tiskoviny v rámci svateb tradicí již od pradávna, globální digitalizace začíná hrát svou roli i v tomto odvětví.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of graphic design and printing technologies in the field of luxury wedding invitations. The theoretical part of the thesis provides a review encompassing elements and principles of graphic design, including printing technologies and characteristics of printing materials that can be practically utilized for printing wedding invitations. The practical part demonstrates the process of creating a wedding invitation design, including its production in a specific printing company. The objective of the thesis is to test printed wedding invitations using refined printing technologies in practice and at the same time to find out people’s perspectives on wedding invitations and discover what is essential to them in the selection process. The research includes a quantitative method of questionnaire surveys and a qualitative method of in-depth interviews. The results of the thesis confirm and refute hypotheses, revealing the current view on luxury wedding invitations within the young adult generation. An interesting finding is that despite printed materials being a tradition in wedding since ancient times, global digitalization is beginning to play a role in this industry as well.
