Nurses\'s\' awareness about Evidence-Based Practice

Abstract:

Cíl: Diplomová práce se zabývala informovaností všeobecných sester o EBP. Cílem diplomové práce bylo především zjistit, zda je úroveň informovanosti vyšší na oddělení intenzivní péče, nebo na standardním oddělení. Přičemž u obou skupin byly následně porovnávány názory a postoje k EBP. Kromě typu oddělení byla informovanost, názory a postoje porovnávány i dle délky praxe a vzdělání. Metodika: kvantitativní design výzkumného šetření probíhal pomocí nestandardizovaného dotazníku vlastní konstrukce. Do výzkumu byly zařazeny VS z oddělení IP a standardního oddělení. Celkem bylo do výzkumu zařazeno 108 respondentů. Získaná data byla zpracována pomocí počítačových programů STATISTICA 13 a IBM SPSS Statistics 25. Výsledky: bylo zjištěno, že informovanost o EBP je na nízké úrovni. Nebyl zjištěn rozdíl mezi informovaností na oddělení IP a standardním oddělení. Nicméně bylo zjištěno, že je informovanost ovlivněna vzděláním a délkou praxe VS. Nebylo statisticky prokázáno, že by vzdělání, délka praxe, nebo typ pracoviště ovlivňovaly postoje VS k EBP. Závěr: informovanost VS o EBP je na nízké úrovni, většina VS o EBP nikdy neslyšela a to jak na oddělení IP, tak na standardních odděleních. Do budoucna by bylo vhodné zvýšit povědomí o EBP pomocí seminářů, či workshopů.

Abstract:

Aim: The thesis deals with Nurses's awareness about Evidence-Based Practice. The main aim of the thesis was found out, if is nurses´s awareness higher at the intensive care unit or standard department. In both groups were compared also opinions and attitudes towards Evidence-Based Practice. Besides of the type of department were awareness, opinions and attitudes towards Evidence-Based Practice compared according to the length of practice and education. Methodology: the quantitative design of the research was conducted using a non standardized questionnaire of its own design. To the research were included nurses from intesive care unit and nurses from standard department. A total of 108 respondents were included in the research. The data were processed using computer programs STATISTICA 13 and IBM SPSS Statistics 25. Outcomes: awareness about EBP was found as low. There was no difference between intensive care unit and standard department. However, it has been found that awareness is influenced by the education and length of practice. It has not been statistically proven that education, length of practice, or type of workplace influenced the attitudes of nurses to EBP. Conclusion: Nurses´s awareness about EBP is low, most nurses have never heard about EBP in both departments, intensive care unit or standard department. In the future, it would be useful to raise awareness of EBP through seminars or workshops.
