Sloučeniny se schopností reverzibilně inhibovat acetylcholinesterasu mohou najít své uplatnění např. v terapii glaukomu, atonie gastrointestinálního traktu či Alzheimerovy choroby. Sloučeniny s periferním působením jsou potom významnou součástí terapie autoimunitního onemocnění myasthenia gravis, které se projevuje slabostí příčně pruhovaných svalů. Abstract:
Compounds with the ability to reversibly inhibit acetylcholinesterase can find their use for example in the therapy of glaucoma, gastrointestinal atony or Alzheimer's disease. Specific compounds with peripheral activity are important part of the pharmacological management of autoimmune disease myasthenia gravis which manifests mainly as weakness of striated muscles.
