Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá průzkumem tématu minimálních párů jako nástroje pro korekci výslovnostních chyb na úrovni středoškolského vzdělávání. Za tímto účelem nejprve zjišťuje různé nesrovnalosti mezi fonologií spisovné češtiny a obecné britské angličtiny, aby nastínila, kde tyto výslovnostní chyby vznikají, popisuje techniku minimálních párů a jak je prezentována ve výzkumu a literatuře. Poté analyzuje šest rozhovorů vedených s učiteli angličtiny působícími v této oblasti, aby zjistila jejich názory a postoje k tomuto tématu. Z této analýzy vyplynulo, že ačkoli mají učitelé omezené znalosti o technice minimálních párů a jsou často omezováni ve své snaze vyučovat výslovnost, hodnotí tuto techniku příznivě, což také poskytuje informace pro další výzkum tématu.

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis is concerned with the exploration of the topic of minimal pairs as a tool for pronunciation error correction at the level of secondary education. To this end, it first ascertains the various discrepancies between the phonologies of Standard Czech and General British English to outline where such pronunciation errors originate and describes the minimal pair technique as presented in research and literature. It then analyses six interviews conducted with English teachers active in that field to explore their opinions and attitudes towards that topic. From this analysis, it has been discovered that even though the teachers have limited knowledge of MPT and are often constrained in their efforts to teach pronunciation, they view the technique favorably, which also provides information for further research into the topic.
