Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Teaching English to Very Young Learners in the Czech Republic“ zkoumá výuku angličtiny, jakožto cizího jazyka, v předškolním věku dítěte. V teoretické části popisuje předškolní věk a jeho specifika, rozvoj verbální komunikace i jednotlivé přístupy a názory na osvojování jazyka. Dále pojednává o systému českého předškolního vzdělávání, kde jsou přiblíženy zejména požadavky uvedené v Rámcovém vzdělávacím programu, a ty jsou následně propojeny s didaktikou výuky angličtiny pro předškolní věk. Praktická část práce analyzuje aktuální stav výuky v českých mateřských školách na základě provedeného kvantitativního i kvalitativního výzkumu. Zabývá se zejména formou výuky v mateřských školách, kvalifikací pedagogů, propojeností s požadavky Rámcového vzdělávacího programu pro předškolní vzdělávání, náplní lekcí i dítětem samotným v rámci vzdělávacího procesu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis „Teaching English to Very Young learners in the Czech Republic“ analyzes the teaching of English as a foreign language in pre-school age. Specifics of the pre school children, the development of verbal communication and the particular approaches and opinions of acquiring the language are described in the theoretical part. Furthermore, the Czech pre-school system of education with emphasis on the requirements of Framework Education Programme for Pre-school Education is being discussed, and consequently interconnected to the didactics of English teaching to pre-school children. The practical part of this thesis examines the topical situation of English teaching in Czech pre-school institutions, based on the quantitative and qualitative research. It is concerned mainly with the form of English teaching in the kindergartens, qualification of the teachers, interconnection of the requirements stated in Framework Education Programme for Pre-school Education, the content of lessons and the child as a part of education process.
