Restoration of the right part of the sgraffito with the scene "Hector's Farewell" at Litomyšl Castle.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá restaurováním sgrafitové výzdoby státního zámku Litomyšl, konkrétně restaurovaného úseku s motivem "Hektorovo loučení". V části rozšířené kapitoly je pozornost věnována výzkumu na téma frotáže, frotáže pořízené ze zámku v Litomyšli, shrnutí a analýze použitých technik, určení lokalizace na fasádách zámku a identifikaci míst jejich současného uložení. Tato část kapitoly se rovněž zabývá zkouškami technik frotáže a jejich vyhodnocením. Zbývající část práce tvoří restaurátorská dokumentace, která zahrnuje restaurátorský, uměleckohistorický a přírodovědný průzkum úseku. Tato část se rovněž věnuje popisu samotného restaurátorského zásahu, včetně chronologického sledu jednotlivých pracovních fází provedených při obnově daného díla.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the restoration of the sgraffito decoration of the state chateau in Litomyšl, specifically on the restored section featuring the motif Hector's Farewell. In the extended chapter, attention is given to research on the topic of frottage, including frottages taken from the Litomyšl Castle, a summary and analysis of the techniques used, the determination of their original placement on the castle façades, and the identification of their current location. This part of the chapter also addresses testing of various frottage techniques and their evaluation. The remaining part of the thesis consists of restoration documentation, including restoration, art-historical, and scientific research of the selected section. This part also provides a detailed description of the restoration intervention itself, including the chronological sequence of the individual work phases carried out during the conservation process.
