Analysis of the evaluation system and work performance in the selected company

Abstract:

Správně nastavený a efektivní systém hodnocení je nedílnou součástí každého podniku. Cílem této bakalářské práce je analyzovat systém hodnocení pracovníků a pracovního výkonu ve vybraném podniku. Vybranou společností je H&M, která se zabývá prodejem oděvů, bytových i módních doplňků. První část je teoreticko-metodologická a zabývá se klíčovými tématy, které souvisejí s cílem práce. V aplikační části je nejdříve představena vybraná společnost a následně provedena analýza systému hodnocení. Analýza je provedena prostřednictvím dotazníkového šetření, strukturovaného rozhovoru s manažerem a následného výpočtu statistické metody. Využitý je test dobré shody a test nezávislosti. Celkovým výsledkem práce je zjištění, že systém hodnocení ve společnosti je spravedlivý i přesto, že pár zaměstnanců by změnu v hodnocení přijalo rádo. Za nejvíce preferovanou motivační metodu pracovníci považují pochvalu a jednoznačně finanční odměnu. Motivace dle výsledku z dotazníkového šetření je od nadřízených pracovníků uspokojivá. Poslední část je věnována návrhům opatření, které vyplývají ze získaných dat této bakalářské práce.

Abstract:

Properly set up and effective performance evaluation system should be implemented in every business as its integral part. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the system of performance evaluation and the employee’s performance in a selected company. Company H&M was selected for this analysis. H&M is multinational clothing-retail company focusing on the sales of clothing, home accessories and fashion accessories. The thesis is divided into two sections, methodical and practical. The methodical part includes description of the key topics related to the aim of the work. In the first part of the practical section the selected company is introduced and then the analysis of the evaluation system is performed. The practical section contains of the analysis performed through a questionnaire survey, structured interview with the manager of the H&M company and subsequent calculation of the statistical method. The Pearson's chi-squared test (test of good agreement) and the test of independence are used. The overall result of the thesis is the finding that the evaluation system in the company is fair, even though a few employees would like to accept changes in evaluation system. Employees consider praise and financial reward to be the most preferred motivational methods. Motivation from superiors is satisfactory according to the results of the questionnaire survey. The last part is devoted to the proposals of motivational system measures from the employees, which result from the data obtained in this bachelor's thesis.
