Role of Tourism Industry in Global, National and Regional Economy

Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to identify relationships between economic growth and Tourism industry. The diploma thesis deals with impact of Tourism industry on World, National and Regional economy. This paper assesses the outcomes of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, examining the benefits and economic impact of the tourism event. The author gives concrete examples of the Olympic Games’ influence on the economy of host country and region (case study: Sochi Winter Olympic Games). The diploma thesis includes research of “Role of Tourism industry in regional economy”, which based on primary and secondary data collection. The results of the research show that Tourism industry in Sochi and Krasnodar Region has a significant impact on the regional economy. The finds conclude that the preparation and holding mega events such as Olympic Games gives the opportunities to develop tourism activity. At the end of the diploma thesis the author gives some recommendations of development Tourism industry in Sochi and Krasnodar Region.
