This thesis deals with the construction and reconstruction of the fictional world Bas Lag created by China Miéville for his second novel Perdido Street Station. Consrtuction of this fictional world is described according to Doležel´s concept of fictional semantics presented in his work Hetercosmica (1998) and according to the theory of possible worlds in literature by Ruth Ronen.
