Proposal and implementation of orientation activity through the iOrienteering application in terms of school physical education at the second stage of elementary school Chlumec with verification of influence on the quality of acquisition of selected aspects of the curriculum of geography

Abstract:

V diplomové práci se zabýváme problematikou realizace orientační aktivity prostřednictvím aplikace iOrienteering v podmínkách školní tělesné výchovy 2. stupně ZŠ s ověřením jejího vlivu na kvalitu osvojování vybraných aspektů učiva geografie. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda se vybraní jedinci po absolvování orientační aktivity dokáží zlepšit ve výše uvedených aspektech. Teoretická východiska práce obsahují historii a známé druhy orientačního sportu. Největší důraz je kladen na klasický orientační běh, ze kterého vychází naše orientační aktivita. Zmiňujeme i nejnovější způsob realizace orientačního sportu prostřednictvím mobilní aplikace iOrienteering. Dále uvádíme základní pojmy a orientační techniky týkající se orientace v neznámém terénu nebo také vybrané učivo zeměpisu ve spojitosti s orientačním sportem. Výzkumný soubor je rozdělený na experimentální (8.A, 9.A) a kontrolní (8.B, 9.B) skupinu. Ty následně absolvovaly vstupní a výstupní měření v podobě písemného didaktického testu, kterým jsme zjišťovali úroveň vybraných aspektů učiva geografie. Pouze experimentální skupina mezi jednotlivými měřeními absolvovala navrženou orientační aktivitu. Kontrolní skupina sloužila k porovnání výsledků z didaktických testů. Získaná data jsou následně statistickými postupy zpracována. Nakonec jsme došli k závěru, že prostřednictvím orientační aktivity došlo ke zlepšení vybraných aspektů učiva geografie a k věcně významnému rozdílu.

Abstract:

In the diploma thesis we deal with implementation of orienteering activity through the iOrienteering application in terms of physical education at the elementary school with verification of it is influence on the quality of acquisition of selected aspects of geography curriculum. The aim of the thesis is to find out if the selected individuals can improve in the above aspects after completing the orienteering activity. The theoretical basis of this thesis contains the history and known types of orienteering sport. The greatest emphasis is placed on the classic orienteering which is characteristic for our orienteering activity. We also mention the latest way of realization of orienteering through iOrienteering application. We present the basic concepts and orienteering techniques related to orientation in unknown terrain or also a selected geography curriculum in connection with orienteering. The research group is divided into experimental (8.A, 9.A) and control (8.B, 9.B) groups. Groups passed the input and output measurements in the form of written didactic test which we used to determine the level of selected aspects of geography curriculum. Only the experimental group completed the proposed orienteering activity between individual measurements. The control group was used to compare the results of didactic tests. The obtained data is processed by statistical procedures. In the end we came to the conclusion that our orienteering activity helped to improve selected aspects of the geography curriculum with significant difference.
