Analysis of single malt whisky supply in selected Prague bars

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis analyses the supply, price level and servise of single malt whisky in selected Prague bars. The main objective of this bachelor thesis is the analysis of single malt whisky supply with the intention of Scotch single malt whisky in selected Prague´s bars. This thesis also analyse comparison of service whisky in chosen bars. The primary data was received by the observation and interview with the staff.It was found out that the Scotch single malt whisky forms more than 20 % of the offer in each selected bar. Whereby the presence of other types of single malt whisky in menu is very low. The average price of the single malt whisky was evaluated as higher than the average price of the other whisky in most bars. Furthermore, it was observed how the whisky is served and if the customer is questioned about the whisky service. After the evaluation of data listed above there was discovered the dependence between the price and service of single malt whisky. According to provided service and offer were chosen bars evaluated from the best to the least satisfying. Considering the results of the analysis suggestions and recommendations for improvement were designed.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca analyzuje rozsah ponuky, cenovú úroveň a servis single malt whisky vo vybraných pražských baroch. Hlavným cieľom práce je analýza ponuky a cenovej úrovne single malt whisky so zameraním sa na škótsku single malt whisky vo vybraných pražských baroch. Čiastkovým cieľom je porovnať servírovanie whisky vo vybraných baroch v Prahe. Pre získanie primárnych dát bolo použité pozorovanie a štruktúrovaný rozhovor. Zistilo sa, že takmer v každom bare viac ako 20 % ponuky whisky tvorí škótska single malt whisky, pričom zastúpenie ostatnej single malt whisky je veľmi nízke.Ďalej bolo vyhodnotené, že vo väčšine baroch je priemerná cena single malt whisky vyššia než priemerná cena zvyšných whisky. Taktiež bolo sledované, ako je servírovaná whisky v jednotlivých baroch a či sú kladené otázky súvisiace s jej servisom. Bola tiež zistená stredná závislosť medzi cenovou úrovňou a servisom whisky. Podľa poskytnutého servisu a ponuky boli na základe získaných bodov vyhodnotené jednotlivé bary od najlepšieho po najhorší. Z výsledkov prieskumu boli vyvodené určité návrhy a odporúčania pre zlepšenie.
