This thesis is dedicated to Emil Mario Vacano, a writer, journalist and artist. The first part of the thesis deals with his life, his relationship with not only Czech but also German artists and period reviews of his works. Práce je věnována spisovateli, žurnalistovi a artistovi – Emilu Mariu Vacanovi. První část práce se zabývá především jeho životem, jeho vztahy s umělci, jak českými, tak německými, a dobovou kritikou jeho děl. V druhé části se zabývám jeho romány Komödianten a Mysterien des Welt- und Bühnen- Lebens, které spojuje výrazné prostředí divadelního a cirkusového prostředí.
