Corporate Communication through Sustainability Reports: Impact of Sustainable Management on Employee Engagement

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem angažovanosti zaměstnanců, udržitelného chování na firemní úrovni a transparentním reportováním o udržitelnosti podniku. Její základ tvoří literární ukotvení tématu a zjištění aktuálního stavu udržitelného reportování v České republice za pomoci žebříčku Czech Top 100. Výsledky šetření vykazují vzrůstající trend společností, které o svém udržitelném chování reportují. V práci jsou zároveň poodhaleny trendy při podávání těchto zpráv. Hlavním cílem je pak prokázání korelace mezi Udržitelným managementem lidských zdrojů a angažovaností zaměstnanců na vzorku zvolených firem za pomoci kvalitativního rozboru jejich reportů, Gallupova dotazníku pro sběr informací ve firmách a následné využití korelační analýzy pro zpracování dat. Výsledky vykazují kladný vztah mezi udržitelným managementem lidských zdrojů a angažovaností zaměstnanců. V závěru práce je poukázáno na důležitost udržitelného chování managementu směrem k interním stakeholderům – zaměstnancům.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of employee engagement, sustainable behavior at the company level and transparent reporting on the sustainability of the company. The literature review anchors the topic; the findings on the current state of sustainability reporting in the Czech Republic with the help of the Czech Top 100 ranking create the base. The results of the survey show an increasing trend of companies that report on their sustainable behavior. At the same time, current trends in the area of reporting are being revealed in the work. The main goal of the paper is to demonstrate the correlation between Sustainable Human Resource Management and employee engagement on a sample of selected companies with the help of qualitative analysis of their reports, the Gallup questionnaire for collecting information in companies and the subsequent use of the correlation analysis for data processing. The results show a positive relationship between sustainable human resource management and employee engagement. At the end of the work, the importance of sustainable management performed towards internal stakeholders - employees - is pointed out.
