Vzájemné působení inflace a hospodaření podniků energetického sektoru

Abstract:

Cílem této práce bylo posouzení vlivu inflace na hospodaření energetických podniků v české republice. Byl zkoumán vztah mezi vnitropodnikovými ukazateli energetického sektoru a cenovou hladinou inflace, spolu s predikcí těchto ukazatelů na rok 2024. Použitím korelační analýzy byl odhalen silný negativní vliv inflace na ukazatele EBIT (zisk před zdaněním), střední vliv na EAT (zisk po zdanění) a provozní zisk, přičemž relativně slabý vliv na ROA (rentabilita aktiv). Dále bylo zjištěno, že díky inflaci se nejvíce zvyšuje obrátka aktiv, následně ROA, a také celková likvidita. Oproti tomu největší poklesy spojené s inflací se projevují u ukazatelů EBIT, provozního zisku a EAT. Mimo jiné byl vytvořen souhrn doporučení pro podniky tohoto sektoru v době výkyvů inflačních tlaků a cenové hladiny. Regresní analýza napomohla predikovat velikosti hodnot sledovaných ukazatelů pro rok 2024. Klíčovým trendem pro tento rok je pokles provozního zisku, EAT a EBIT. U obrátky aktiv, ROA a celkové likvidity se naopak očekává nárůst hodnot. Mezi hlavní limity práce lze zařadit zkoumání podniků nacházejících se pouze na území české republiky. Kromě toho práce nezahrnuje kompletní seznam vnitropodnikových ukazatelů, ale pouze šest vybraných. Další zkoumání by mohlo rozšířit tuto analýzu na jiné ukazatele, analyzovat odlišný sektor nebo zemi. V návaznosti na prognózu by mohl být proveden test její přesnosti s reálnými hodnotami v roce 2024.

Abstract:

The aim of this paper was to assess the impact of inflation on the performance of energy companies in the Czech Republic. The relationship between the energy sector's inter-company indicators and the price level of inflation was examined, along with a prediction of these indicators for 2024. Using correlation analysis, a strong negative effect of inflation on EBIT (earnings before interest and taxes), a moderate effect on EAT (earnings after taxes) and operating profit, and a relatively weak effect on ROA (return on assets) was revealed. Further, it was found that inflation mostly increases asset turnover, followed by ROA, as well as overall liquidity. In contrast, the largest inflation-related declines are seen in EBIT, operating profit and EAT. Among other things, a summary of recommendations for companies in this sector in times of fluctuations in inflationary pressures and price levels has been produced. The regression analysis helped to predict the magnitudes of the values of the indicators monitored for 2024. The key trend for this year is a decline in operating profit, EAT and EBIT. On the other hand, the values for asset turnover, ROA and total liquidity are expected to increase. The main limitations of the paper include the examination of companies located only in the Czech Republic. In addition, the paper does not include a complete list of intra-company indicators, but only six selected ones. Further research could extend this analysis to other indicators, to analyse a different sector or country. Following the forecast, a test of its accuracy could be carried out with real values in 2024.
