Preferred forms of education in relation to personality traits

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se snaží objasnit některé vztahy mezi osobnostními charakteristikami účastníků vzdělávacího kurzu soft-skills a kurzem samotným. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda mají respondenti odlišná očekávání od vzdělávacího kurzu, zda preferují odlišné výukové metody, a to na základě jejich osobnostních charakteristik. Práce zkoumá i vliv mezipohlavních rozdílů a rozdílného studijního zaměření. Dále se věnuje vztahu mezi naplněním očekávání a hodnocením efektivity kurzu. V první části popisujeme teoretická východiska, druhá část je samotné výzkumné šetření. Cílovou skupinou jsou studenti vysokých škol. Jako nástroj jsme použili osobnostní dotazník MBTI a dotazník Hodnocení kurzu. Praktickým výstupem z této práce je poskytnutí zpětné vazby Poradenskému centru Masarykovy univerzity, které je formou doporučení pro vedení zde pořádaných kurzů soft-skills.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis aims to clarify the relationship between personality traits of participants of training course (soft-skills) and the course itself. The goal is to find out a) whether respondents have different expectations from the training course, b) whether they prefer different teaching methods, based on their personality traits. The thesis explores the influence of gender differences and differences in academic orientation. It also discusses the relationship between fulfillment of expectations and evaluation of the effectiveness of the course. The first part of the thesis describes the theoretical background, the second part is the actual research. The target groups are university students. We used the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the course evaluation questionnaire. Practical outcome of this thesis is to provide a feedback to Consulting Centre of Masaryk University. The feedback is in the form of recommendations for leading soft-skills courses.
