Abstract:
Tato práce se zabývá postavou Santy Clause a jeho rolí v americké kultuře. Zásadní otázkou je, zda se změny probíhající v americké kultuře a společnosti odráží na způsobu, jakým je vyobrazován. Práce nestuduje dopodrobna jednotlivá díla, je spíše průřezem těch, která se nejvýrazněji zasadila o současnou podobu této postavy.
Abstract:
This thesis deals with the character of Santa Claus and his role in American society. The main question posed in the work is if the changes that have taken place in American society and culture are reflected into the depictions of Santa Claus. The thesis does not offer a deep analysis, it is rather a demonstration of the various works that have lead to the topical image of the figure.
