Foreign direct investments flow from the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Téma práce zní: přímé zahraniční investice plynoucí z České republiky do zahraničí. Práce se zabývá obecnou specifikací přímých zahraničních investic, jejich členěním a měřením, teoretickými koncepty, lokalizačními teoriemi a faktory. Práce se dále zaměřuje na ekonomické a politické podmínky v zemích V4 a Nizozemsku s ohledem na možné lokalizační faktory. Hlavní částí je analýza přímých zahraničních investic plynoucích z České republiky do zahraničí v letech 2008 -- 2013 dle odvětví i teritoria. Klíčovým odvětvím je Finanční zprostředkování, kromě pojišťovnictví a penzijního financování. Nejatraktivnější zemí je dlouhodobě Nizozemsko. Také je zmíněna česká institucionální struktura -- zejména CzechInvest, ČEB a EGAP a následně několik konkrétních příkladů z různých hospodářských segmentů. Cílem této práce bylo nalézt hlavní lokalizační faktory a ověřit hypotézu, zda existuje dominantní faktor / skupina faktorů. Hypotéza byla potvrzena a dominantním lokalizačním faktorem je daňové a legislativní prostředí. Vedlejším cílem bylo popsat přímé zahraniční investice plynoucí z České republiky do zahraničí tak, aby tato práce mohla sloužit jako aktuální materiál pro orientaci v oblasti včetně upozornění na možná rizika a mých osobních doporučení.

Abstract:

The thesis topic: foreign direct investments flow from the Czech Republic abroad. The thesis deals with the general specifications of foreign direct investments, their classification and measurement, theoretical concepts, localization theories and factors. Furthermore, the thesis is focused on economic and political conditions in the V4 countries and the Netherlands with regard to possible localization factors. The main part is the analysis of foreign direct investments flow from the Czech Republic abroad in the years 2008 -- 2013 by industry sector and territory. The key industry sector is Financial intermediation, except insurance and pension funding. The most attractive country in long-term is the Netherlands. There is also mentioned Czech institutional structure -- especially CzechInvest, ČEB a EGAP and subsequently a few concrete examples of FDI from different industry segments. The target of this thesis is to find main localization factors and verify the hypothesis if a dominant factor / group of factors exists. The hypothesis is verified and the dominant localization factor is tax and legislative environment in the destination country. The secondary target is to describe foreign direct investments flow from the Czech Republic abroad to provide an actual material for orientation in this area including a warning of possible risks and my personal recommendations.
