Foster care from the point of view of social workers.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem náhradní rodinné péče z pohledu sociálních pracovníků. Pozornost je zaměřena především na příbuzenskou pěstounskou péči, konkrétně na roli prarodičů jako pěstounů. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jak sociální pracovníci doprovázející organizace interpretují příbuzenskou pěstounskou péči a roli prarodiče jako pěstouna. Dílčí cíle byly zaměřeny na schopnost prarodičů tuto roli zvládat a na formy podpory, které považují sociální pracovníci za nejdůležitější. Výzkum byl realizován pomocí kvalitativní metody, konkrétně polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s pěti sociálními pracovníky doprovázející organizace. Data byla analyzována pomocí tematické analýzy. Výsledky ukazují, že prarodiče vstupují do pěstounství často bez přípravy, silně motivováni citovým poutem k dítěti. Jejich schopnost zvládat tuto roli ovlivňuje věk, zdravotní stav, vztahy s vlastními rodiči dítěte a schopnost přizpůsobit se současným výchovným nárokům. Důležitou roli hraje dostupnost podpory, vzdělávání a poradenství.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with foster care from the point of view of social workers. The focus is on substitute family care as part of child protection services, with an emphasis on the specific form of kinship foster care, where grandparents often take on the role of foster carers. The aim of the thesis was to find out how social workers from foster care support organizations interpret kinship foster care and the role of grandparents in this position. The sub-goals focused on grandparents' ability to fulfil the role of foster carers and on the forms of support that social workers consider most important. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach - specifically, semi-structured interviews with five social workers. The data were analysed through thematic analysis. The findings show that grandparents usually take on foster care suddenly and without preparation, motivated by a strong emotional bond with the child. Their ability to manage this role is influenced by age, health condition, relationship with the biological parents, and the capacity to adapt to modern parenting demands.
