Women's Awareness of Breast Cancer Prevention

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je Informovanost žen o prevenci karcinomu prsu. Práce se dělí na dvě části, a to teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část v osmi kapitolách popisuje nejdříve karcinom prsu, typy karcinomů prsu a jejich klasifikaci, anatomii prsu a jednotlivá stádia onemocnění. Tato část dále pojednává o epidemiologii tohoto onemocnění jak v České republice, tak ve světě, rizikových faktorech, příznacích a v neposlední řadě o samotné prevenci. Praktickou část práce tvoří průzkum, který byl proveden pomocí dotazníkového šetření. K vyplnění dotazníku byly vyzvány ženy všech věkových kategorií od 18 let. Dotazník se zaměřuje na prevenci karcinomu prsu u žen, a to hlavně samovyšetření prsu a mamografické vyšetření. Pomocí dotazníkových otázek zjišťujeme jednotlivé znalosti respondentek v těchto oblastech Po analýze výsledků dotazníkového šetření pomocí grafů a tabulek zjišťujeme, že je většina žen v oblasti prevence karcinomu prsu dobře informována, ale stále se ve společnosti vyskytuje menšina žen, které tak dobré znalosti nemají. Proto jsou v závěru práce uvedena doporučení pro praxi.

Abstract:

The topic of the bachelor thesis is Awareness of Women about Breast Cancer Prevention. The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part, consisting of eight chapters, firstly describes breast cancer, types of breast cancer and their classification, breast anatomy, and the various stages of the disease. This part further discusses the epidemiology of this disease both in the Czech Republic and worldwide, risk factors, symptoms, and last but not least, prevention itself. The practical part of the thesis comprises a survey conducted through questionnaire surveys. Women of all age categories from 18 years old were invited to fill out the questionnaire. The questionnaire focuses on breast cancer prevention in women, mainly through breast self-examination and mammographic screening. Through questionnaire items, we determine the individual knowledge of the respondents in these areas. After analyzing the results of the questionnaire survey using graphs and tables, we find that the majority of women are well informed about breast cancer prevention, but there is still a minority of women in society who do not have such good knowledge. Therefore, recommendations for practice are provided at the end of the thesis.
