Transformation of architecture and social life, the Workers House on Federal Brno

Abstract:

Práce se zaměřuje na proměnu architektury a kulturně-společenského života Dělnického domu na Spolkové v Brně. V první části je hodnocena potenciální role tohoto objektu, ve smyslu plnění kulturní veřejné funkce, prizmatem urbanismu především v lokalitě Zábrdovice, konkrétně části, jíž se stále přezdívá „Brněnský Bronx“. Další část se věnuje sociologicko-kulturní a architektonické proměně tohoto objektu. Pro analýzu byl zvolen retrospektivní přístup od nejisté budoucnosti objektu, přes současný stav, až ke vzniku Dělnického domu.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the transformation of architectural, cultural and social life on Workers´House, Brno, Spolková Street. The first part evaluates the urbanism role, meaning the level of culture impact, of the house in Brno-Zábrdovice, particularly in the area, which is still called Brno´s Bronx. The next part deals with the socio-cultural and architectural transformation of the house. Thesis describes the issue retrospectively from the uncertain future, through the current situation to the establishment of Workers´House.
