Information retrieval in heterogenous environment of digital libraries using the technology of knowledge and information robots

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na použití technologie znalostních a informačních robotů při návrhu a realizaci získávání informací z prostoru digitálních knihoven do prostředí servisních systémů. Nejprve se zaměříme na digitální knihovny. Vyjasníme základní terminologii, srovnáme známé způsoby získávání informací v prostředí digitálních knihoven a identifikujeme zajímavé oblasti. Sestavíme konceptuální model popisující doménu digitálních knihoven z pohledu získávání informací. Konceptuální model vybudujeme nad standardem FRBR. Svou pozornost poté přesuneme směrem k servisním systémům a inovativnímu směru SSME. Vysvětlíme, co jsou servisní systémy, co je služba a jaký význam má spolupráce. Představíme technologii znalostních a informačních robotů a její současný stav. V souvislosti se servisními systémy objasníme informační integraci. Navrhneme řešení získávání informací v servisních systémech pomocí představené technologie znalostních a informačních robotů -- importovací proces. Následně zformulujeme metodiku tvorby adaptérů, elementárních komponent importovacího procesu. Nakonec užijeme importovací proces v doméně digitálních knihoven. Specifikujeme potřebné adaptéry a identifikujeme zajímavé datové zdroje. Poté sestavíme příklady, jak z těchto datových zdrojů pomocí importovacího procesu získáme užitečné informace pro podpoření vybraných případů užití. V závěru si vymezíme další možné směry rozvoje jak konceptuálního modelu popisujícího doménu digitálních knihoven, tak integračního řešení v servisních systémech.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on using the technology of knowledge and information robots for design and implementation of information retrieval from digital libraries space into service systems environment. At first, we will focus on digital libraries. We will clarify basic terminology, compare known techniques for information retrieval in digital libraries environment and identify interesting fields. We will construct a conceptual model which describes digital libraries domain from the point of view of information retrieval. The conceptual model will be constructed on FRBR standard. Our focus will be moved towards service systems and an innovative approach SSME. We will clarify what service systems and service are and we will explain the importance of cooperation. We will introduce the technology of knowledge and information robots and its actual state. We will clarify information integration in connection with service systems. We will design a solution of information retrieval in service systems by force of the introduced technology of knowledge and information robots -- the process of import. In consequence, we will declare adaptor creation methodics. Adaptor is an elementary component of the process of import. In the end, we will apply the process of import in digital libraries domain. We will specify necessary adaptors and identify interesting data sources. Afterwards, we will draft examples of retrieval of useful information from these data sources by the process of import to give support to chosen use cases. In conclusion, we will determinate future work on the conceptual model of digital libraries domain and the integration solution in service systems.
