Coping in children threatened with social exclusion during school closures

Abstract:

Tato práce je věnována situací dětí ohrožených sociálním vyloučením v době uzavření škol z důvodu nouzového stavu během pandemie koronaviru. Konkrétně se zabývá zvládáním těchto dětí ve věku 2. stupně základních škol. Za účelem naplnění cíle práce byl proveden kvalitativní výzkum v podobě polostrukturovaných rozhovorů se sociálními pracovníky, kteří s těmito dětmi, případně jejich rodinami pracují. Z tohoto výzkumu vzešla zjištění o tom, jak se zkoumané děti z pohledu respondentů snažily řídit, tolerovat či redukovat požadavky, které na ně byly kladeny a které přesahovaly jejich dostupné zdroje.

Abstract:

This thesis is concerned with the situation of children threatened by social exclusion during school closures that occurred as a result of the state of emergency during the coronavirus pandemic. It specifically focuses on the coping of children in 6th to 9th grade of primary school. To fulfill the goal of the thesis, qualitative research through semi-structured interviews with social workers that collaborate with these children or with their families, was undertaken. The results showed ways that the researched children tried to manage, tolerate, or reduce demands which went beyond the resources available to them.
