Design of children´s high chair

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na design nábytku pro děti. Dětská jídelní židle je důležitým prvkem při vývoji dítěte, ať už z hlediska fyzického, psychického či sociálního. Teoretická část obsahuje analýzu zabývající se vývojem dítěte od narození po 4. rok života, antropometrií a jejím historickým vývojem. Součástí je také přehled historie krmení od pravěku až po 20. století, kojení a krmení dětskou lahví nebo tradičním jídlem v různých zemích. Teoretická práce také obsahuje přehled základních dětských potřeb pro krmení tuhou stravou. Další částí je analýza dětského nábytku dětských jídelních židlí od starověkého Egypta až po druhou polovinu minulého století. Pojednává o hygieně a bezpečnostních podmínkách. Obsažena je celosvětová analýza designérských řešení jídelních židlí a výběr spoluprací mezi firmami a designéry. Rozdělení je provedeno podle materiálu, variability nebo skladnosti. Výsledkem praktické části diplomové práce je designérské řešení dětské jídelní židle z ohýbané překližky, založené na využití jedné formy na opěrák, sedák i podnožku. Výhodou je nastavitelnost opěradla a podnožky podle potřeby. Detail dvou kruhových perforací plní nejen estetickou a funkční stránku, ale vytváří i emocionální akcent produktu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on children design. The children´s high chair is an important element of child development, in terms of physical, psychological or social. The theory contains of an analysis dealing with child development from the birth to the age of 4 years anthropometry and its historic development. It also includes an overview of the history of feeding from prehistory to the 20th century, breastfeeding and baby feeding bottles and traditional cuisine in the different countries. The theory also contains an overview of the basic children's utensils for solid food. Another part is an analysis of children's furniture - children's high chairs from ancient Egypt to the second half of the 20th century. It deals with the hygiene and safety conditions. It is included the global analysis of design solutions and cooperation between companies and designers. The division is made by material, variability and space-saving solutions. The result of the thesis is a high chair design solution of bent plywood, based on one mould application of the backrest, seat and footrest. The advantage is the adjustability of the seat back and footrest according to needs. A detail of two circular perforations is not only attractive and functional side, but it also creates an emotional accent of the product.
