A Lived Experience of People with Panic Disorder

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na panickou poruchu a konkrétní způsoby pomoci při akutní fázi panické ataky tohoto onemocnění. V začátku teoretické části práce jsou popsána teoretická a empirická východiska práce. Cílem teoretické části práce bylo popsat panickou poruchu a analyzovat možnosti podpory a pomoci lidí s panickou poruchou s důrazem na formy sebepodpory. Výzkumná část navazuje na teoretické poznatky. Cílem výzkumné části práce bylo zjistit, jaké zkušenosti mají lidé s panickou poruchou při zvládání akutní fáze panické ataky. Ve výzkumu byla použita kvalitativní výzkumná strategie a následné polostrukturované rozhovory byly zpracovány formou otevřeného kódování. Následně byla získaná data zhodnocena a reflektována se získanými teoretickými poznatky.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on panic disorder and specific ways of help with the acute phase of a panic attack. At the beginning of the theoretical part of the work, theoretical and empirical background of the work is described. The goal of the theoretical part was to explain panic disorder and analyze possibilities of support and help to people with panic disorder with emphasis on forms of self-support. The research part builds on theoretical knowledge. The aim of this part was to find out what experience people with panic disorder have when managing acute phase of a panic attack. Therefore, a qualitative research strategy was used in the research and subsequent semi-structured interviews were processed in the form of open coding. Subsequently, the obtained data were evaluated and reflected with the acquired theoretical knowledge.
