Versailleský systém byl vytvořen k zajištění stability a míru. Tento systém se skládal z mírových smluv podepsaných na Pařížské mírové konferenci roku 1919. Německo bylo označeno za viníka války a vítězné mocnosti na něj uvalily mnoho omezení. Ve 20. a 30. letech britská diplomacie vyjednala nové uspořádání, ale Francouzi trvali na omezeních. Abstract:
The Versailles system was created to ensure stability and peace. That system consisted of peace treaties signed at The Paris Peace Conference in 1919. Germany was identified as the culprit of war and victorious powers imposed many restrictions on ermany.
