Support of the Development of Visual Perception of Children with Down Syndrome in Preschool age

Abstract:

Diplomová práce Podpora rozvoje zrakového vnímání dětí s Downovým syndromem předškolního věku se v teoretické části věnuje problematice Downova syndromu, včetně fyziognomie a nejčastějších zdravotních komplikací vyskytujících se u osob s Downovým syndromem. Dále charakterizuje zrakové vnímání a zaobírá se jeho specifiky u osob s mentálním postižením. Třetí kapitola teoretické části popisuje možnosti podpory rozvoje dětí s Downovým syndromem se zaměřením na rodinu, vzdělávání a neziskové organizace. Cílem výzkumného šetření je analyzovat specifika rozvoje zrakového vnímání u dětí s Downovým syndromem předškolního věku a formulovat následná doporučení pro další práci s těmito dětmi.

Abstract:

The theoretical part of the Diploma Thesis on the topic of Support of visual perception development of preschool children with Down’s syndrome is focused on the issue of Down’s syndrome including physiognomy and the most common medical complications that occur in people with Down’s syndrome. The visual perception and its specifics targeting people with mental disabilities are also characterized and discussed. The third chapter of the theoretical part describes the possibilities to support the development of children with Down’s syndrome with the focus on family, education and non-profit organizations. The objective of the research survey is to analyze the specifics of visual perception development of preschool children with Down’s syndrome and to propose recommendations for following work with these children.
