Interpretation of the male roles in the education of infants from the perspective of today's paternal dominant discourse

Abstract:

Diplomová práce Výklad mužských rolí při výchově kojence z pohledu současného otcovského dominantního diskursu se zabývá problematikou otcovství v soudobých souvislostech. Poskytuje pohled na osobní zkušenosti mužů s otcovstvím ve vztahu k genderovým stereotypům a k současným požadavkům na zapojení otců. Práce se skládá ze dvou částí - teoretické a empirické. Teoretická část se věnuje vymezení základních pojmů s cílem poskytnout ucelený vhled k tématům, které se dotýkají empirické části. Mezi tyto pojmy patří například postmoderní rodina, otcovství, aktivní otcovství, gender či rozdělení rolí v rodině. Empirická část je zaměřena na výzkum zkušeností informantů výzkumu s jejich rolí otce a to v rámci hraní genderových rolí při výchově kojenců. Data jsou získána pomocí rozhovorů a analyzována pomocí Interpretativní fenomenologické analýzy.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis - The interpretation of the male roles in education of infants from the perspective of today´s paternal dominant discourse deals with the issue of paternity in the contemporary context. It provides insight into the personal experience of men with fatherhood in relation to gender stereotypes and current requirements for the involvement of fathers. The work consists of two parts - theoretical end empirical. The theoretical part defines basic concepts in order to provide comprehensive insight into issues which are related to the empirical part. These concepts include terms such as postmodern family, fatherhood, active fatherhood, gender and family roles. The empirical part is focused on the research experience of the informants with their father´s role in the framework of playing gender roles during upbringing of the infants. The data are collected through the use of interviews and analysed with using interpretative phenomenological analysis.
