CCD photometry of selected open clusters

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci se zabýváme studiem dvou otevřených hvězdokup Chupina 3 a Doldzim 9. V teoretické části jsou otevřené hvězdokupy nejdříve uvedeny jako jeden z hvězdných systémů. Detailně pak popisujeme také jejich vznik, vývoj a charakteristiky. Dále jsou ukázány základy fotometrie, kterou budeme používat k získání informací o hvězdokupách. Abychom mohli naše pozorování analyzovat, představíme rovněž důležitý nástroj astrofyziky, H--R diagram. V praktické části se na základě výsledků CCD fotometrie pokusíme určit vzdálenost, stáří a chemické složení hvězdokup. To provedeme nalezením vhodného teoretického modelu, který proložíme našimi daty. Takto získané parametry porovnáme s hodnotami jiných autorů.

Abstract:

In this bachelor thesis we study two open clusters Chupina 3 and Doldzim 9. In the theoretical part the open clusters are primarily mentioned as one of the star systems. Subsequently their formation, evolution and characteristics are described in detail. Next we present the basics of photometry which is used to gain information about star clusters. In order to be able to analyze our observation we also introduce an important instrument of astrophysics, the H--R diagram. In the practical part we try to determine the distance, age and chemical composition of star clusters, based on the CCD photometry results. This is done by finding a suitable theoretical model fitting our data. Thus gained parameters are then compared with the values of other authors.
